What types of accounts can I have professionally managed?

Many types of accounts* can be professionally managed by Motley Fool Wealth Management, including:

  • Individual brokerages
  • Joint brokerages
  • IRAs rolled over from previous employers
  • IRAs created from an in-service 401(k) distribution
  • Traditional IRAs
  • Roth IRAs
  • Charles Schwab 401(k)s
  • Trusts (irrevocable and revocable)
  • SEP IRAs
  • UTMAs

However, if you plan on opening an LLC, LP, UGMA, UTMA, 401(k), or irrevocable trust, please contact us at 844-408-4390 so we can assist you with the intricacies of setting up these accounts.

Fool Wealth portfolios cannot support 403(b)s, 529s, or profit sharing plans at this time. However, 401(k)s or 403(b)s from former employers typically allow you to roll those funds into a traditional IRA without tax consequences, which we can then of course manage for you. We recommend that you consult with your tax advisor prior to attempting to roll these over.

*During discussions with our Wealth Advisors, they may provide advice with respect to 401(k) and IRA rollovers into accounts that are managed by Motley Fool Wealth Management and could generate ongoing asset-based fees for Motley Fool Wealth Management that it would not otherwise receive. Information regarding potential conflicts of interest are disclosed in the Form ADV.

Please note that the Hedged Equity strategy is not available in retirement accounts or for any accounts held at Charles Schwab.
