Have scammers ever impersonated Motley Fool Wealth Management or its employees before?
Yes. Scammers have used publicly accessible information such as names and photos of employees of The Motley Fool, LLC, Motley Fool Wealth Management, and other affiliated businesses to solicit illegitimate financial transactions, communicate fraudulent investment advice, or retrieve sensitive personal information through WhatsApp and other social media platforms
They may falsely indicate that we’ve updated our contact information, such as a work phone number, or that we are creating special investment groups for unique investment opportunities.
Notably, recent scamming instances have invited users to a 45-day trial and promised to reimburse investment losses. Neither of these offers are legitimate.
If you are suspicious of any message you receive in relation to your Fool Wealth account, be sure to contact your Wealth Advisor or a member of the Client Experience Team directly before taking any action.
